Reflexology

An ancient therapy ideal for today's lifestyle

This is a popular and relaxing therapy that is based upon the principle that the feet are a reflection of the body: there are reflex points on the feet that are connected to corresponding areas throughout the body.  By using my thumbs and fingers on these reflex points I can help balance the systems of the body, assisting them to work more efficiently.

Your Treatment
Your first treatment is preceeded
by a full and free consultation. This ensures the treatment is right for you. In some cases, your doctor's persmission may be required before you have your treatment (for example, if you are on prescribed medication).

During your treatment you remain fully clothed, just removing shoes and socks while you lay on my comfortable treatment couch.  Firstly I cleanse your feet with steaming towels before applying firm but gentle pressure to specific points and areas of your feet to bring balance and harmony to all the body's systems.

The treatment takes about 45 minustes and includes a relaxing foot massage using essential oils.

This is a wonderfully relaxing therapy that is effective in providing relief from stress and tension.  It is helpful to a wide range of conditions but especially if you suffer from hormonal imbalances (such as PMS), depression, insomnia and digestive disorders.

Other benefits may include:
Increased energy
More efficient removal of toxins from the body

A stronger immune system

The release of endorphins (the body's "feel good" hormones)

After your Reflexology Treatment: I will advise you to find some time to rest and relax to continue the feeling of well-being.   You should drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins and avoid stimulants such as tea, coffee, tobacco and alcohol.  You may experience a "healing crisis" where your symptoms may get a little worse before they get better.  This is perfectly natural and it is the body's way of healing itself.

A History of Reflexology:
Reflexology has been used by the ancient civilisations: Egyptians, Chinese and Native Americans. These ancient forms of foot massage were based on the principle that energy zones run throughout the body.  This was further developed in the early 20th Century by Dr William Fitzgerald who noticed that applying pressure on one part of the body affected a corresponding part of the body.  Fitzgerald divided the body into ten theoretical zones, finding everything in each zone was connected, and that connection was energy.  In the 1930's Eunice Ingham developed Zone Therapy further, discovering that the whole body could be treated with the application of pressure to the feet.

please note, treatments are available to ladies only, thank you.
